How to choose a flower bouquet

A bouquet is easier to choose once you know what actually differs between designs. Three things do: the kind of flower, how the bouquet is presented, and the occasion it is for. This guide takes them in that order, using the bouquets Fresh Petals lists, with the flowers and wrapping recorded for each.

Rose bouquets

Choose roses when the colour is the message. Compare the colours listed for each design; little else separates them.

Mixed flower bouquets

Choose a mixed bouquet when you are unsure of the person's taste, or want something bright and informal. Look at which flower leads each one.

Lily bouquets

Choose lilies for a quieter, more formal gift. They are fewer, larger flowers, and usually arrive with some buds closed that open over the following days.

Wrapped, or in a vase

Most of these bouquets are hand-wrapped: the records list premium white wrapping, soft white wrapping, kraft wrapping, premium wrapping. A wrapped bouquet is handed over as a gift and then needs a vase and water at the other end.

One design (Colour Pop Love) is arranged in a glass vase and can go straight onto a table or a desk. That matters when the flowers are going to an office, or to someone who may not have a vase to hand.

A vase can also be added to a wrapped bouquet; ask when you send your order. The wrapping and ribbon in a photograph are what the record lists, and a different finish can be requested.

Choosing by occasion

If you know the occasion but not the person's taste, start from the designs the shop currently lists for that occasion. These lists are maintained by the shop and change over time; the occasion pages always show the current ones.

For a thank-you, a new home, a recovery or a condolence, see all occasions. If none fits, describe the occasion in your message and we suggest from what is available.

If a flower is unavailable

Flowers depend on what is fresh on the day, and they vary naturally in shade, size and how open they are. A photograph shows the design, not a promise about each stem.

If a flower in the bouquet you chose is not available for your date, we tell you before you pay and suggest an alternative, or you can cancel. You can also ask for a change yourself: a different colour, or leaving a flower out. Any change, and the price with it, is confirmed on WhatsApp first.
